How to create your signature
- Type or draw. Type the name you sign with, or switch to Draw and sign with a mouse, your finger or a stylus.
- Choose a style and ink. Pick one of six handwritten styles and black, navy or blue ink. Tick Initials only for your initials.
- Download or use it. Download a cropped PNG with a transparent background, copy it, or use it right away to sign a PDF.
A signature image is not an electronic signature
A typed or drawn signature image is a picture of your name. It looks like a signature, but anyone who receives it can copy it, so on its own it proves very little.
An electronic signature is the process around it: who signed, how they were identified, what they agreed to, and proof that the document was not changed afterwards. When a document matters, send it through a signing service that records all of that, like a Stellaire Sign envelope.
Tips for a good signature image
- Use the name you sign with on official documents, so the image matches your usual signature.
- Keep it legible. A signature that reads as your name is easier to recognize later.
- Black or navy ink prints and scans best.
- The PNG is cropped and transparent, so it sits cleanly on any page or email background.
- Don't post your signature image publicly.
Questions
Is the signature generator free?
Yes, with no account and no watermark.
Is my signature stored anywhere?
No. It is created in your browser. If you choose Sign a PDF with it, it is kept in this browser tab only and cleared when you close it.
Can I use it in Gmail or Outlook?
Yes. Download the PNG, then insert it as an image in your email signature settings.
Is a signature image legally valid?
It can be, when the people involved accept it, but it carries no proof of who added it. For contracts, use an electronic signature process with an audit trail.
Which languages work?
The six styles cover Latin alphabets, including French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Turkish and Vietnamese accents. For other scripts, draw your signature.
Can I make my initials?
Yes. Tick Initials only, and the generator uses the first letter of each part of your name.
